The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is a student chapeter that holds intercollegiate design and engineering competitions. These competitions require students to design, fabricate, and race vehicles in order to gain real world experience that is vital in today's competitive job market. SAE's most popular event is the Mini-Baja competition, where students design and contrstuct an off-road vehicle capable enough to withstand punishment on rough terrian.
