Purdue University Calumet ISEA
The ISEA of
PUC is a chapter under the Indiana State Teacher's Association.
We are a student group with an executive board made up of a
president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. We also
have a faculty advisor from the School of Education.
Our purpose
for existing is to help students who are preparing to enter, or
are already in, one of the teacher education programs here at
PUC. We provide professional development opportunities and
opportunities to get involved in the surrounding communities.
Our goals are
to show a strong interest and involvement in the surrounding
community and build quality teachers.
We are the
future teachers of this country and we need to take an interest
in the area around us. We are a support system and responsible
for helping you to become an intelligent individual.
About the ISEA
The ISEA was created for students to
develop an understanding of the education profession, to provide a united
student voice in matters affecting their profession, to influence the
conditions under which prospective educators are prepared, to advance the
interests and welfare of students preparing for a career in education, to
promote and protect human and civil rights, to promote cultural diversity,
and to stimulate the highest ideals of professional ethics, standards, and
attitudes in pre-professional educators of Indiana.
Top Ten Reasons to join the ISEA :
As members of an elite class preparing to
be professionals, it is important to belong to a professional organization
which will strengthen your connections, promote leadership development and
community service, and voice your opinions in the rapidly changing field of
education.
