AME has partnered with our IIE Chapter 822 student organization to assist us in developing our personal skills in lean manufacturing. The first event attended was a Kaizen Blitz held at Irwin Seating Company in Grand Rapids, MI, September 23-25, 2002. Two teams were charged with reducing press setup time by as much as 50% along with performing 5S. We were teamed with Irwin personnel who had Kaizen experience, with AME members who were in need of additional Kaizen experience, and with Irwin support personnel who really depict what a World Class company culture is all about. We are definitely looking forward to our next event!
